Suzanne Diamyo FCOptom - Owner Optometrist
Suzanne studied for a degree in optometry and visual sciences at The City University in London and has been a qualified optometerist for over thirty years. Suzanne's successful career spans all areas of the profession, from private practice to Professional Services Director of a Multi National contact lens company. However, when the opportunity arose to buy Trouteaud Opticians in 2005, she jumped at the chance to take over this prestigious practice and move to Guernsey. Her passion for her vocation means Trouteaud always stay one step ahead in eye care with new developments and the very best equipment available. Suzanne is a firm advocate of prevention of eye disease and more recently has implemented valuable research now available on ocular nutrition. Your eye examination with Suzanne will involve a great deal more than whether or not you need glasses or contact lenses!
Tony Cowen - Practice Owner
Tony is married to Suzanne and so five years ago also found himself moving to Guernsey! Previously, Tony worked as a Professional Portrait Photographer in Devon for 28 years and quickly applied his artistic skills to the cosmetic side of eye care. He has a natural flair for assessing the right styles for your face and gives valuable advice to help clients choose frames or sunglasses.
Stephanie - Optical Assistant
Steph joined Trouteaud in 2009 and has thoroughly embraced all aspects of practice work. She is currently undertaking a course for optical assistants and is a very knowledgeable and valuable member of staff.
Charles - Lab Technician
Charles has been working as the practice lab technician since 2007 and can usually be found at his high-tec computerised cutting machine. 99% of Trouteaud's prescription eye wear is made onsite by Charles.

- Eye Examinations - Trouteaud are renowned for going that extra mile. Time is no object and advice is relevant to your needs and lifestyle. With our 'state of the art' equipment we can check and assess the whole spectrum of eye conditions including dry eye, cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
- Children's Eyecare - routine eye checks are crucial for children. Over a million school children in the UK suffer with uncorrected visual problems.
- OCT - this laser technology scans the eye in 3D giving amazing detail of the eye resulting in the earliest detection of glaucoma and macular degeneration.
- MPod - this measures the thickness of the macular pigment which protects it against macular degeneration. The test will allow us to offer recommendations on diet and vitimin supplements to improve pigment density if it is poor.
- Ocular Nutrition - an holistic approach to eye care which is particularly important in the treatment of dry eye and macular degeneration.
- Frames - an extensive range of luxury and design led eyewear including Chanel, Tiffany, Dior, Paul Smith, Oliver Peoples, Lindberg, Tag Heuer and Alain Mikli.
- Sunglasses - a great range of sunglasses; luxury brands include Chanel, Tiffany, Bvlgari, Tag Heuer. Sports brands include Oakley and Rudy Project with fashion brands Ray-Ban, Carrera and Prada Sport.
- Contact Lenses - we not only use all major branded contact lenses, but also custom made lenses enabling us to fit more complex prescriptions.
- Ortho-K - we specialise in Ortho-K contact lenses as an alternative correction for short sight. The lenses are worn overnight re-moulding your eyes, they are removed on waking and you can enjoy perfect vision, lens free during the day.
