Five Star Food & Facilities
In A Five Star Location

The Old Government House Hotel & Spa, known colloquially in the island as the OGH, has been operated as a hotel for the past century and a half. From 1796 until 1842 it was the official residence of the Governor of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Since being converted into and operated as a hotel in 1858 the premises have been extended and modernised many times, yet the building has never lost its essential character.

The building was extensively, but sensitively refurbished in 2008 by current owners, Red Carnation Hotels on the occasion of the building's 150th anniversary as a hotel. This modern, opulent hotel is decorated in high class style and has a wide range of facilities to suit those looking for first rate accommodation, wine & dine restaurant cuisine, a venue for a special occasion or wedding venue or excellent conference facilities.

Fine Cuisine

The Old Government House Hotel & Spa has a wide range of options for fine dining restaurants from local seafood and produce, to al fresco dining and even authentic Indian cuisine. To reserve a table phone 01481 738604, unless noted otherwise below.

The Brasserie Restaurant overlooks peaceful private gardens with views of St. Peter Port harbour. Dine at any time of day from breakfast, through lunch and into the evening in our spacious conservatory. Sample our excellent cuisine prepared from high quality local ingredients, from succulent steaks to delicious seafood dishes, with a wide range of complementary wines that our expert staff are only too happy to suggest.

The Crown Club, located in the original 18th century Old Crown Offices next to the hotel, is the perfect place to socialise with friends and colleagues over a light hot or cold meal with drinks. Enjoy our outstanding selection of premium whiskies, British gins, Champagne, vodkas, cognacs, cocktails, beers and fine wines. Relax in the bar, our orangery-style conservatory, or out on the terraces with heaters and fountain lighting while you appreciate the magnificent views of the harbour. To reserve a table phone: 01481 738526.

The Curry Room offers authentic Indian cuisine in convivial surroundings and is open for both lunch and evening meals. Choose from a wide variety of wines from around the world to complement your chosen dish, or traditional Indian Kingfisher beer, while you enjoy the food in Guernsey's finest Indian restaurant.

The Olive Grove is the only restaurant in the very centre of St. Peter Port with its own garden, so that you can dine al fresco while soaking up the views of the harbour and Castle Cornet. The perfect location whether you want to eat breakfast, take afternoon tea, or sip early evening cocktails.

The Centenary Bar adjoins The Brasserie Restaurant and has direct access to The Olive Grove, and offers an informal place for guests and non-residents to relax and unwind with our fine selection of malt whiskies, gins, vodkas and locally made drinks such as Breda lager and Rocquettes Cider, or ask the bar manager to make up a cocktail for you.

Afternoon teas and drinks may also be taken in the Sir John Coward Lounge.

Conference Facilities

The OGH offers a variety of flexible hospitality options for business and social events, or a mix of the two.

The hotel has seven state-of-the-art conference rooms, capable of handling any seminar, conference or reception for any number of delegates from 2 to 200. Alternatively our enclosed gardens and patio are perfect for drinks receptions and less formal events, while we can cater for anything from private dinners to extravagant banquets.

Our meetings & events team can help to organise your event including transport for off-site excursions, airport/ferry transfers, entertainment, and can also provide catering, drinks, screens, overhead slide projectors, video projectors, television monitors and DVD players.
