about us
Mondomundi in Guernsey is a "new generation" fair trade business offering a great variety of stock including gifts, fashion accessories, food, drink, home and garden items. Visit our beautiful gift shop at Sausmarez Manor or our St Martin's store for lots of fairly priced home and fashion accessories.
Mondomundi is the retail trading name of 'The Mundi Group Ltd', a fair trade business offering a wide range of fantastic gifts including crafts, fashion accessories - scarves, bags, jewellery, home and garden furnishings and a smattering of eco friendly gadgets, toys, Fairtrade food and drink and organic products.
Mondomundi's first shop in St Martin's at the Co-op complex was opened on 8th June 2006 by Simeon Green MBE, a representative of Fairtrade producers from the Windward Islands who was in the island to formally present Guernsey with its award of Fairtrade Island status.
Who set up Mondomundi?
Mondomundi was set up by Phil & Heidi Soulsby who wanted to run a business that would make a positive difference to the world and with the very highest standards of ethics and social justice at its core. Less than a year later Sher Ghazi, a fairtrade fruit grower from Pakistan, officially opened the second Mondomundi shop at Guernsey Airport during Fairtrade Fortnight 2007.
This shop is believed to be the first European fairtrade airport shop. In addition, Mondomundi has steadily grown as a trade supply business, providing Fairtrade tea, coffee and other catering supplies to restaurants, coffee shops, offices, schools and churches across the island.

The shop has such lovely stuff to buy presents for people. Everything is Fairtrade and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
They sell only fair trade products and have such a gorgeous and varied selection, but best of all they have such lovely, helpful, warm and friendly staff. A brilliant shop, which serves the local community while helping people all over the world. They also serve very good coffee!
Their handmade cards are fantastic, fairtrade and excellent value at £2.75, while the scarves and jewellery are simply fabulous.
No matter what the occasion there is always a fabulous gift to be found in Mondomundi. Shopping here is a relaxed affair, helped by knowledgeable and friendly staff - you can even sample the Fairtrade coffee whilst you browse. This has to be my favourite shop in Guernsey.

A great range of ethically produced items and environmentally friendly products such as solar powered radios. The most outstanding aspect of shopping at Mondomundi is the staff who are so friendly and helpful and proud enough of their products not to be pushy. A very refreshing attitude all round. Full marks.
