My daughters had to stay in from school today due to the teachers strike,as a result I had to work from home,like thousands of other mothers in the the UK. Thousands of school children did not go to school today, as teachers walked out, and this included nurseries,Primary and secondry school.Emergency child care could not be found as there were limited places.
Its been very frustrating for me as a mother like most mothers in the same situation today would agree and quite confusing for the children. I have spent the day being innovative and creative in a bid to keep them from being bored, constantly through out the day having to think of ways to keep them busy, while trying to work.
I hope that this would not happen often and tomorrow things would go back to being normal and hopefully they would not have missed out on much.
