Six weeks of small, intimate classes where you'll learn how to lose weight and keep it off for good.

"I am addicted to going to the Gym" This is a statement I never thought I would make - I used to think it was just 'hype' but now I don't feel right if I don't do my three sessions each week. However Curves classes have changed my life.
I am 65, under 5 foot tall and weigh about 10 stone. Although I was reasonably fit, I wanted to lose body fat and strengthen my knees and other joints as I felt I was getting stiff and weak. I joined Curves, healthand fitness club when it opened in October 2006 feeling very unsure - would everyone be young, slim and beautiful in pink lycra?? Of course this proved to be completely wrong, it's like a friendly social club, all ages, shapes and cultures. I really enjoy meeting new people and getting stronger at the same time. One activity I can do now is jump. I tried to do some skipping with my small grand daughter and realised I couldn't jump anymore. I was quite shocked at this but now I can jump up and down on the spot for 30 seconds. This has really boosted my confidence in respect of trying to control the ageing process.
The weight loss is a bit slow but I know I have lost a few inches as my clothes are now more comfortable.
So, to conclude, Curves has made me stronger in body, and more positive in thought.
