Dickensian Shopping Evening to welcome Santa Claus to Springfields
Visitors to Springfields Outlet Shopping are being encouraged to don Dickensian costume to mark a specially themed shopping evening which includes the arrival of Santa Claus himself.
There will be a £100 Springfields Gift Card for the best dressed visitor at the Dickensian Shopping Evening, which is happening on Thursday 17 November between 6-9pm. The evening will be helping to make sure Christmas celebrations at Springfields go with a swing.
There will be plenty of traditional themed entertainment, including a barrel organist, comedy carol signers and a brass band. There's also lots of gifts, arts and crafts ideas and traditional refreshments will be available.
To make sure it's a really special evening, Santa will be arriving on his reindeer-pulled sleigh about 6.15pm. There will be an opportunity for everyone to meet and greet the reindeer - photos are encouraged!
And the Father Christmas fun doesn't stop there. The ever-popular Springfields Winter Wonderland Walk and Santa's Grotto will be open for the first time in 2011 from 6.30pm to 8pm that evening. This enchanted walk around the Festival Gardens festooned with lights is really popular and puts people of all ages in the festive spirit!
Admission for children, which includes a visit to see Santa, a surprise chocolate gift and the walk, costs £3.50, with adults priced at £1.50 and children going on the walk only pay £1. The evening also marks the start of late night trading at Springfields, Monday to Friday until 9 p.m. at more than 55 stores. Late night trading is from 17th November until 23 December with free parking after 6pm. Check the Springfields website for more details.
