The Hare & Hounds at Fulbeck near Grantham is a traditional village pub on the pretty Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire borders.
Recently taken over by new owner Steve Taylor, the Hare & Hounds is a contemporary country inn with fabulous reputation for tasty gastro pub food, plus the highest quality en-suite accommodation.
The character-packed pub is a Grade II Listed former coaching inn, lovingly restored to its former glory and boasting a wealth of original features, with exposed beams and exposed stonework.
The Hare & Hounds prides itself on offering all customers a welcoming, refreshingly caring service, and a wonderful choice of well-kept wines, spirits and ales teamed with a mouth-watering modern menu.
Customers can relax on a sofa in the stylish bar, or dine in the upstairs restaurant, and for summer's days and warm evenings, there is a landscaped patio beer garden. The Hare & Hounds public house also offers plenty of off-street parking in its private car park.
Lunchtimes at the Hare & Hounds
With dishes changing according to seasonal tastes and produce, a sample lunchtime menu includes:
• Roast pork belly
• Seared Cajun chicken
• Beer battered fish and chips
• Stilton rarebit
• Omelette
The Sunday Lunch Menu is £10.50 (two courses) and £13.50 (three courses) and features:
- Starters - including smoked haddock and pea risotto, black pudding and caramelised apple salad, roasted red peppers and tomato soup.
- Main courses - including tomato and pesto pasta with parmesan shavings, roast rump of beef, pan fried salmon in chive butter, sausage and mash, Roast leg of lamb with roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, roast pork shoulder with all the trimmings or ½ Roast chicken with the extras.
- Desserts - a choice of hot and cold desserts.
