Polish Made Easy
An introduction to Polish
Grantham and Lincolnshire
Aims
To remove the fear of the consecutive consonants that appear in the Polish language, enabling the learner to pronounce Polish names and understand/respond to some simple greetings. Also it aims to dispel some of the commonly held myths about Poland and looks at some of the cultural differences.
Description
This half day course is delivered by a native English speaker who, having spent a number of years living and working in Poland, fully understands the difficulties perceived by the English speaker confronted with Polish for the first time. Through a number of interactive activities the learner can focus on the similarities to English phonetics and recognise the different sounds both aurally and in the written form. Articles about this course have appeared in both local ( http://tinyurl.com/67352tb ) and National Press, including The Times Education Supplement, as well as being on local BBC and ITV news programmes.
