EM Direct is keeping Grantham and the wider East Midlands region and beyond at the forefront of the education sector. As a Training and Development Agency for schools (TDA) Accredited Initial Teacher Training (ITT )Provider, and a Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Training Provider, they train and assess for professional status in primary and secondary schools and Early Years settings.
Educational Services courses and assessments include:
- Student Associates Scheme - The SAS offers students the opportunity to gain classroom experience and a real insight into the role of a teacher by providing a 15 day paid placement in a school local to your university or home town.
- Graduate Teacher Programme – successful completion of this one-year, full-time employment based route into teaching will result in the award of Qualified Teacher Status
- Subject Knowledge Booster – Can be integrated into the initial teacher training programme or enjoyed by qualified teachers as a top-up course
- Maths Development Programme for Teachers - to provide teachers with a greater understanding of Mathematics
- Return to Teaching – A 10-week intensive programme for primary and secondary teachers to refresh skills following a career break
- Early Years Professional Status – this is for those working, or wanting to work with children under the age of five to ensure children get the best start in life
- GCSE Equivalence Testing in Maths, English and Science
- 11+ Fun – a week long, non-residential course in August, providing a combination of fun activities and 11+ Prep
- Polish up your Polish – a half day workshop which aims to take away the fear of pronouncing those consecutive consonants in the Polish language
EM Direct are also a Career Transition Partnership (CTP) Preferred Supplier to support Service Leavers in finding a new career in education or child care. They also provide a CRB checking service.
Their headquarters in Grantham is also home to a Professional Training and Conference Centre available to hire by organisations delivering training to their own staff, or simply wishing to organise off-site board room meetings. A unique feature of the Centre is the Educational Resource Store which offers for sale a wide variety of educational toys to schools, nurseries and the wider public, with the puppet range being ever popular.
Today the EM Direct Group employs 30 people at its head office in Grantham and has in excess of 50 consultants delivering training and mentoring on behalf of the group.
