The Vinings serves quality Indian and Thai food at affordable prices and is an ideal choice for any occasion.
Vinings offers buffet style dining which gives you complete freedom of choice over your menu. You can choose from a great selection of Thai and Indian starters, a variety of salads and an equally impressive range of Thai and Indian main courses with rice and noodle accompaniments. If you still have room you can then choose from a selection of ice creams and deserts. The Vinings offers a fixed price menu at lunch and dinner time which includes popadoms, rice crackers and full range of sauces and accompaniments.
This stylish but comfortable restaurant has a full drinks list to suit all tastes and add an excellent accompaniment to your meal.
The Vinings is a great place for any special occasion with family, friends or work colleagues. The staff will be happy to discuss your needs and there are extra special options for birthdays and anniversaries including champagne, chocolates and celebration cakes. The service and food are very good. E.g. real mint in the sauces (i.e. fresh) and proper.
Our second visit to Vinings was just as good as the first. The food is of top quality with an excellent choice of different dishes. The location is in a great spot overlooking Gloucester docks – even on a rainy day! The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Had a great meal with lady friends from Cheltenham, they and I wee impressed. Cheltenham think they have it all - you matched up to expectations. Thank you! We will be visiting again soon!
When both you and your son have Coeliac its great to be able to go somewhere to dine that has a clarly labelled menu with lots of options to choose from. The restaurant itself is really smart and both adult and child friendly with a great service.
I would describe Vinings AKA "The Rusty Box" as my happy place! Relaxed eating, excellent firendly service and food and a really warm welcome. I have been there about 150 times and never had a bad experience.

After being introduced to the Vinings a few years back, we now consider it as our favourite eating place. The service is wonderful, always very attentive. The whole place is very clean and the music is not instrusive. The food is cooked to perfection and presented well. 10 out of 10 everytime!
We love visiting Vinings because we're treated like old friends on arrival and welcomed with polite handshakes and seated with our personal preferences in mind. The waiters are attentive without being intrusive. The food is fresh and varied, with different dishes each visit. The serving counter is kept spotlessly clean and a choice of warm and cold plates compliment the dishes. A warm, friendly place to dine.
