Established in 1996, Centre Pointe School of Dancing has grown and flourished under the guidance of Claire Corbett (the principal). The school now occupies a beautiful Victorian building in Alfred Street in Gloucester which has been fitted out with three very spacious studios complete with Harlequin flooring, barres and full length mirrors.
At Centre Pointe the fully qualified and highly experienced teachers pride themselves in providing only the best training for children from the ages of three.Children and students have the opportunity to learn ballet, tap, modern, jazz and street dance and the school also has in house musical theatre classes.
In addition to the Alfred Street dance centre, Centre Pointe also holds classes at Pineholt Village Hall in Hucclecote on a Friday afternoon.
All students have the opportunity to take ISTD examinations and RAD vocational examinations. There is a bi annual school dance drama production and the school regularly takes part in dance festivals around the country. In the past students have achieved excellent examinations results and many have been successful in gaining places at some of the country's best known dance and theatre schools including The Royal Ballet School, London Studio Centre and Royal Academy of Dance.
Centre Pointe is always proud to bring the best in modern dance tuition to Gloucester. In September it will be introducing Street Dance Classes which will be conducted by a commercial and street dance professional who has featured in the latest film Street Dance 3D, been involved in T4 On The Beach alongside Strider, Tiao Cruz and N-Dubz and has danced in productions choreographed by Lee Alexander (Thriller live), John Graham (2xs) and Nathan Gordon(Flawless). Not only that but the dance professional Portia is an ex Centre Pointe pupil.
