Gateshead Harriers & Athletics Club has been a leading sports club and association since it was founded as Gateshead St Mary's Church Running Club in 1904
Of course back then, it was a club for men only. Ladies joined the club in 1951 and since 1956, has operated from its current home at Gateshead International Stadium
All athletes are catered for today, which includes youngsters from the age of 8 years, to veterans. All disciplines are included and Gateshead Harriers & Athletics Club runs throughout the year
As a sports club and association, Gateshead Harriers & Athletics Club has excellent training facilities. We train at least two evenings a week at Gateshead International Stadium, on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30 until 8.00
We compete in cross-country, track & field, road races and marathons and always welcome new members to the club. You can train at many levels of fitness to suit your needs, from sedate jogs to competition level
