A Play By Willy Russell
Dennis is about to turn thirty-five, and is desperately trying to escape a middle-class existence he never imagined for himself in a housing estate that he hates for its uniform blandness. When his next-door neighbours arrive for a celebration he dreads with presents he despises, he begins to crack and starts to pack a rucksack to escape! But his attempts to flee are hampered by the need to give his parents travel guidance over the telephone, the hunt for the phantom vandal at loose on the housing estate, and his love of his stereo system. Will he ever break free?
