I just love shopping in Frinton on Sea!!! For me, this is a trip down memory lane - when the high street was the hub of every town and you could meet most of the people you knew popping in and out of the bakers, the butchers, the cafe - in the good old days when we had time to enjoy our shopping trips!!!! Where else can you find such a variety of excellent shops and where else can you still PARK IN THE ROAD OUTSIDE?????

Don't get me wrong, I don't think The Avenue is old fashioned!!!! Not a bit of it; there are far too many superb, modern shops selling up to the minute goods for it to be anything like that; but the old fashioned flavour of the place and the sheer variety of retaillers is simply wonderful. I am in seventh heaven every time I visit!

For me, my trip just has to start at D & A Health & Petfoods; what a superb store this is - I could shop here all day, there is so much on offer and, yes, this is just the tiniest bit old fashioned but in that wonderful, can't quite believe my luck to have found it, sort of way! I like to do a bit of window-shopping at Vassallo Jewellers, in the hopes that my other half may pick up on a birthday hint, then a good browse through the books and artwork at Caxton Books - where I always find something I can't resist! Lunch at Café19 - superb food, wonderful friendly atmosphere and very, very affordable!

After lunch, a wander round Kevin Pearce perhaps, for rugs and curtains this shop just cannot be beaten (their old fashioned customer service is first class) and I simply have to stop and windowshop at Petricellis - such beautiful clothes (and not always just window-shopping either)! I always buy bread and cakes from The Cake Kitchen, they make everything on the premises and they are simply delicious - how do you choose???? And, to my mind, without a doubt the best butcher in the neighbourhood is Wrights - I do not think the quality and range of their meats can be beaten! The stuff from the supermarkets pales in comparison and, frankly, is no cheaper than the excellent fare on offer at Wrights!

There is the Triangle Shopping Centre of course - and this is a nice one! I often pop in, especially to Paws Here, which is stuffed full of goodies for my pets and they will always order in specially for me too!

There are just so many shops to visit - so much better than rushing around those faceless, uninspiring, depressing, everything-under-one-roof supermarkets & hypermarkets, where you don't get the choice or the expertise of these specialist retailers who have spent years learning their trade and give excellent service; just look at the range in the opticians for instance, or the mobility centre - where else can you find that sort of specialist knowledge and individual care?

So, that's why I love shopping in Frinton! All that, the Summer Theatre and the seafront too! What more could anyone ask? Shopping paradise!!!
