For decades, the existence of a Second World War secret agent codenamed ‘Fifi’ was dismissed as fiction. Security chiefs laughed off stories of a beautiful blonde employed as an ‘agente provocatrice’ to tempt British trainee spies into giving away secrets.
Sadly, bookshops which were once a mainstay of any high street, are disappearing fast. It is estimated that there are now fewer than 1000 independent bookshops in the UK this is approximately a third less than there were 10 years ago.
One proposal idea is a Night Bus service for the area which would enable those without access to private transport to go further afield in the evenings.
