For a traditional restaurant here in the Forest of Dean - The Ugly Duckling Country Restaurant serves the finest cuisine
“Local food, simply cooked.” That’s the philosophy at The Ugly Duckling Country Restaurant in the Forest of Dean – and judging from the recommendations we’ve heard, they more than deliver on their promise.
The restaurant is owned by Peter and Chris Teague. Prior to taking on this challenge 12 months ago, head chef Peter was the only chef in the Forest of Dean to be awarded 2 AA rosettes for food quality.
They have transformed The Ugly Duckling into a stylish traditional restaurant. (It’s in Swan Street, Lydney, hence the name.) And they’ve kept the menu and wine list affordable too, so a memorable meal out can be a regular pleasure.
