Who are Crossroads?
Officially, Crossroads is a Domiciliary Care Agency. In reality, it’s a lifeline. Crossroads provides much-needed respite care for carers and the loved ones they care for throughout the Forest of Dean area. A charity, it’s part of the largest scheme caring for carers across England, Scotland and Wales.
Crossroads offer a life line here in the Forest of Dean for those who, with a little help and support can stay in their own home and lead an independent lifestyle. Help comes in many different forms and could range from doing a little shopping for someone or help attending appointments to a whole range of services around the home and personal care, including…
• Getting up in the morning
• Dressing
• Toileting
• Going to bed at night
• Shopping
• Meal preparation
• Management of continence
• Assistance with medication
• Light domestic duties such as laundry
• Socialising
• Attending appointments.
This list is not comprehensive so whatever your home care needs please feel free to contact us for an informal chat, or if you prefer we could visit you at home or send some information. It may be that your needs are infrequent but whatever they are we are happy to try and help.

Crossroads is happy to advise you, even if their scheme cannot offer practical help. For example, you may be eligible for a Carers Assessment through Social Services or need advice on benefits available. Crossroads can also put you in touch with other organisations who may be able to give you the support you require.
