The County Air Ambulance - The unique charitable organisation which covers the Forest of Dean area and surrounding counties
Rapid response
On average, an Air Ambulance takes off every 10 minutes in the UK, flying 365 days a year in daylight hours. There is no doubt that after an accident or onset of serious illness the sooner expert medical attention can be given to the patient the better chance there is of saving life and ensuring a better long term outlook.
Development of Helipads
The County Air Ambulance continues to support Air Ambulances throughout the Central England Region including the Forest of Dean area wherever misfortune brings accidents and emergencies in its wake, and now there are six helicopters covering this region alone.
Strategic Review
Whilst the number of helicopters has increased, the strategic review of Helipad landing facilities has found severe shortcomings in these facilities at a number of very important hospitals.
As a wholly independent charity we are now taking the necessary steps to develop new Helipads or upgrades to ensure patients are speedily and directly transferred to the care they need.
An unchanged fact
One thing remains unchanged though and that is we do not receive any government funding. We really do need your help for this new and urgent task.
Therefore the launch of the £10 Million Helipad appeal has been established – Helicopter Emergency Landing Pad Appeal (H.E.L.P)
