The Johnstown Flood is the brainchild and pseudonym of Dunfermline based singer / songwriter Stuart Bell. As a solo artist he has regularly been playing sell out shows in his home town and further afield, building up a loyal following.
Expect music that ranges from the heartfelt and tender through to foot stomping and raucous. The is relaxed, loose and enjoyable with elements of Country, Folk and Americana. The major touchstones for The Johnstown Flood's sound are the likes of Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Michael Marra, Bruce Springsteen (solo and Seeger Sessions era) all delivered with a distinctive dose of East coast realism. Look out also for a number of reworked covers by the likes of Deacon Blue and Ray LaMontagne.
