Glenrothes Art Club - Drawing workshop

DRAWING WORKSHOP Glenrothes Art Club is holding a workshop in “Drawing” on Saturday 16th February with Colin Christie, a well known and respected painter and lecturer. The workshop will be held in the Cottar House Studios in Alburne Park, Glenrothes from 10am till 4pm. This workshop is designed for amateur artists of all standards who can brush up on their drawing skills and learn new techniques. All materials are provided and tea and coffee are supplied free of charge and you are advised to bring a packed lunch. The cost of the workshop is £15.00 per person. Applicants should be 16 years or over. Colin Christie began drawing and painting in his early teens and went on to study at Edinburgh College of Art and the Glasgow School of Art. He worked in Graphics and Architecture until 1984 when he changed career and joined staff at the then Napier College in Edinburgh. He lectured in Interior Design, Computer Aided Design, Graphics and Technology until 2001. He then worked as a freelance designer producing all manner of computer generated graphics and visualisations for Scottish and London based commercial clients. Recently his career has taken off and he exhibits with many Scottish Galleries and holds regular workshops at Birnam Arts Centre and Pitlochry Festival Theatre. More information on the Workshops is available on the Club’s website: www.glenrothesartclub.org.uk Glenrothes Art Club is the leading voluntary organisation in the field of arts and crafts in the local area and was founded in December 1955 by five early settlers in the New Town; an art teacher, a school master, a train driver, a retired printer and an architect. Members paint in Watercolours, Oils, Acrylic, Pastels and Charcoal. Members are there to help, so if you want to start painting come along to the club for a chat. Or you may be an artist who would like to join a club, if so, please come along and meet us. The Club has several Unframed Sales every year, held in the Kingdom Centre Glenrothes. The Annual Art Exhibition is held in the fifespace gallery of the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes in August. This is the largest and most prestigious exhibition of arts and crafts to be held in the Glenrothes area. Various other events, classes, and fundraising activities are held throughout the year.
