Love Local: Community event to celebrate local clubs, organisations and business that work towards creating a more sustainable and healthy way of life.

The theme of this year’s Sustainability Festival – organised by Farnham Community Farm and Farnham Town Council – will be “Love Local”. There are so many wonderful skills in our community that we would like to showcase, exchange and pass on!

There will be a wide variety of stalls from local organisations and businesses that aim to help and encourage people to make a difference when it comes to creating a healthier, greener and more sustainable way of life, be it through recycling and repairing, reducing waste, or engaging with like-minded people.

Farnham Community Farm will have its own stand selling flower and vegetable plants, as well as a stall selling hot and cold drinks and delicious home-made cakes. Other stalls range from Green Up Britain, the Guildford Seed Bank to Hive Helpers and the Surrey Wildlife Trust. If you might be tempted by some “retail therapy”, there are also a number of stalls selling ethically and locally produced goods. So, you can learn more about beekeeping, buy sustainable beauty products, candles or clothes. Or why not join Surrey Artist of the Year 2023, Lucy Dorothy Nichols, and learn how to make paper bugs, birds and butterflies using pages from unwanted books donated by Oxfam?

Besides all the buzz, there will be ample space to relax and sample a huge variety of food including vegan dishes. Sit back, sip a cup of tea or a have a refreshing pint and watch the world go by.

Where: Gostrey Meadow, Farnham. Entrance is free, good atmosphere is guaranteed!
