well, well, well, what can i say? Me and my wife stopped off at the Bluebell one afternoon on our way home from visiting friends, we had a slap up lunch and pint in this pukka village pub, my only dissapointment concerned the young gentleman behind the bar, who i believed was rude and seemed more concerned chatting to the young lady customer when he was serving us, he was also not particuarly helpful when i requested information about our lunch as my wife suffers from food intolerances.
a pity really as aside from the service, i was quite happy with this little country pub
Very nice outdoor eating area and great for families with children as they have room to play but are still in sight. The food was good with reasonable portion sizes. It was my first visit and will not be my last.
Home from home this place never fails to deliver in bucket loads, great service, warm yet contemporary atmosphere, consistently good food and most importantly the people that go there are all friendly, educated and interesting.

Enjoyed lunch here on Monday 22 September 2008. Excellent service, hospitality, food and attention to detail. New attractive outside deck area just completed, will definately visit again probably in the evening for dinner and will recommend to friends.
Decided to book at the Blue Bell on Saturday 26th July based on recommendation and by the reviews on this site. We eat out a lot locally and wanted to try somewhere different for my wifesʼ birthday.
We ordered 2 starters, both came out not as I had ordered.
One of our mains also came out not as ordered while another (a risotto) was frankly tasteless and we didnʼt think that rissoto rice was actually used in the dish.
We didnʼt bother with dessert.
The staff didnʼt seem to know what was on the menu and didnʼt ask me how I would like my steak cooked (or provide me with a steak knife).
I did speak to the front of house manageress who graciously offered to refund a starter but I felt the point was being missed.
On the plus side, the cider was good, itʼs a lovely setting, itʼs just a real shame that a place that offers to excel as an a la carte restaurant doesnʼt even make it as a pub with a simple bar menu.
8 of us descended on the bluebell after a cycle ride. The service was very friendly and the staff couldnʼt have been more helpful. They laid on a fantastic spread including hot baguettes crammed full of fresh fillings (the ham was exceptionally good quality), salmon on skewers, home cooked potato wedges (like the proper chips your gran used to make) and the most fantastic chicken pieces in spicy sauce and mini burgers. Thank you to the Bluebell. I will be back!
A great find! Friendly owners & staff, nice big garden with childrenʼs play area (a sensible distance from the tables...), good quality food and reasonable prices. Thankfully, no TV or fruit machines. The perfect spot for a relaxing lunch and an afternoon glugging Rose in the sunshine!

My boyfriend & I were staying in the area (Tilford Wood Log Cabins) to celebrate his 40th birthday. We did some research for good places to eat and The Blue Bell certainly seemed to be highly recommended compared to some of the others in the area. We were pleased to have done our research.. what an excellent venue, very friendly staff, very clean and well kept and as for the food.. wow.. superb! Great value, good portions and truly delicious (especially the homemade syrup sponge!). Thanks for a great evening. Sam & Mark
Having seen such rave reviews from contented customers, (see reviews for The Blue Bell in pubs and gastro pubs) I knew my next lunch business meeting had to be there. We received top service for our amazing quality food portions with a very short waiting period on a day that the restaurant was full with families enjoying an afternoon lunch - school was out for the Christmas break. Visit The Blue Bell, you will not be disappointed
We didnʼt know the area - we were on a 6 mile walk and starving when we came across The Blue Bell. It was fantastic. They were so welcoming to us, even though we were in walking gear. The whole ambience of the place is terrific - plenty of space and a nice buzz. But the food was exceptional. My partner said it was the best pub meal heʼd ever had (he had the steak sandwich) and my goatʼs cheese with grilled mushrooms was yummy. I know you shouldnʼt drink when youʼre walking - but we did! And weʼre glad we did because the wine was great too. Weʼre telling everyone we meet about this pub.

Weʼre really lucky to have the Blue Bell a 20 minute uphill walk from us; this is great as it enables us to work up an appetite before arriving (or just feel like weʼve earnt a pudding), although weʼve only eaten in the pub part, not the a la carte area.
So impressed were we when we first went, weʼve been back with all of our friends, who ask to go there every time they come to see us (or maybe use us an excuse) and have even had to limit ourselves to avoid eating there too often.
Most recently, we had Sunday lunch there, as a sort of birthday event, and the staff coped really well with a sudden increase in numbers, and seemed unflappable despite the huge number of covers they were doing.
The food, based on our experiences is always excellent, with a robust pub standards menu and a diverse board of specials. The food seems to be mainly local produce, and cooked to perfection, in a non-pretentious way; a pan fried duck still remains a personal favourite.
Everyone we know adores the Sunday roasts, even if the portions always leave you wanting more. (By the way, it is essential to book ahead for Sundays, in our experience.)
Value for moneyʽ Well, this is Surrey and itʼs easy to spend the same amount somewhere else for ʼping cuisineʼ (microwaved rubbish), so we canʼt really complain.
Probably the only frequent criticism is that itʼs not that great just for a drink, outside of the summer months; itʼs really a restaurant with some draughts (albeit good local ones).
Oh, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding is the best anyone weʼve met has ever tasted, and thatʼs said without a hint of hyberbole. In fact, weʼve got friends arriving soon...

The best pub food in the area without doubt. Perfect vegetables every time. Great variable menu and everthying is very high quality and cooked to order. Canʼt fault it. Great beer and service too.
Well done to Alex, Alex, Fiona and all the team at the Blue Bell.
There are quite a few decent gastro-pubs in the area but my wife and I feel The Blue Bell is the best weʼve tried so far. Good food and beer, space, a great garden with a childrenʼs play area, but best of all was the service, no waiting at the bar, the food came out quickly and all was done with a smile.
My one minor gripe is the same gripe as I have with every restaurant Iʼve ever been to with my children. Is it really necessary for childrenʼs food to be so hot when brought to the tableʽ Every meal begins with 5 minutes of frantic huffing and puffing.
This is a great pub. The food is fantastic and the staff are very friendly as already reported. Food isnt expensive or cheap, you get what you pay for at the end of the day and as far as I could work out its all cooked to order and fresh, and it shows. We visit fairly regularly and one sunday there was a 45 minute wait on food, which in our opinion shows that its busy, people want it, the food is fresh and the staff are honest. We were more than prepared to wait. Your doing a great job Blue Bell, keep it up! Mrs Walker

The Blue Bell is situated in an attractive rural setting; the menu is original and the meals are excellent. The staff are friendly, in particular, Fiona, and we consider it to be the best pub/restaurant in the area.
Well done Alex and his team,
Finaly a proper country pub, great real ale, two of tripple fff brewerys finest ales, perfectly kept, an excellent pint of hogs back TEA. Good food, great portions and very well presented. All that plus a great play area for the kids!!
We went on a Friday evening. Really good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Our booked table in the pub section was held whilst we enjoyed a drink at the bar. The food was well cooked, tasty and well presented and the sevice friendly and efficient.
Only one gripe, seriously guys, SATCHETS of ketchup etc on the table????? Spoilt the effect a bit.
We tried out the newly reburbished Blue Bell one Sunday lunchtime. We found the staff to be really friendly. The food was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. We will definitely eat there again.
