The Knight Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis is one of the leading CF charitable organisations, providing financial support to ensure that patients with Cystic Fibrosis at Frimley Park Hospital in Frimley near Farnborough receive the best possible care and treatment.
Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common life threatening disease, which affects over 7500 babies, children and young adults. At the moment, there is no cure for CF, but the faulty gene has now been identified and scientists and doctors are working to improve treatments and find a way to prevent the disease.
Our Aims
Founded in 1985, The Knight Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis was registered as a charity in 1997. We are dedicated to providing support and financial provision to people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), predominantly through raising money for The Knight Centre at Frimley Park Hospital to supply:
The Knight Centre
Opened in 2002 by HRH Princess Alexandra, The Knight Centre is a specialist CF treatment centre at Frimley Park Hospital near Farnborough.
As one of the UK's leading Cystic Fibrosis charitable organisations, The Knight Foundation raised almost £1 million to build the Centre, with the help of numerous supporters, companies and institutions in Farnborough and Surrey. Providing a 'home from home' environment, the Centre comprises:
- Five En-Suite Patient Rooms
- Outpatient, Consultant and Physiotherapy Facilities
In addition, we have provided over £300,000 of specialist medical equipment in order to provide the best treatment and care for Cystic Fibrosis patients at Frimley Park Hospital.
The Knight Foundation is aiming to achieve Specialist Status for the Knight Centre. This will be done by meeting the criteria laid down by national charity, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
