Infant Childcare
Our dedicated baby rooms are the ideal introduction to nursery life. From 3 months old, babies can join Footsteps Day Nursery and Preschool, where we have a comfortable staff ratio of 1:3.
Our baby rooms are filled with light, textiles and create a wonderful sensory experience that helps inspire and stimulate developing minds.
Our baby rooms have access to our secure garden, where babies can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. As they grow and start finding their feet, the garden becomes a place of discovery, a perfect place to practice crawling and walking!
Footsteps Day Nursery and Preschool is happy to discuss your baby's progress whenever you want; we also give families a more formal report twice a year, which highlights your baby's strengths and successes in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Toddler Childcare
Footsteps has its own dedicated toddler childcare room - an environment that encourages your child to explore and discover their creativity, confidence, independence and determination.
Our highly skilled staff team are committed to caring, listening, giving advice and answers and give them the time and opportunity to create masterpieces!
Your child may also have the opportunity to enjoy experiences with visitors specialising in music, dance, football or language, as well as time in our garden to run, ride tricycles and bikes, catch and throw balls, practice their climbing skills and enjoy the fresh air.
Our toddler childcare is based on the Government's Early Years Foundation Stage and our Casterbridge Curriculum of quality care and education, both of which affirming our child-centred approach to childcare.
Preschool
When a child joins our preschool or is ready to move from our nursery care, our investment in practical steps helps smooth the transition to school.
Children are given the opportunity to wear a uniform, carry book bags and take learning material home.
Footsteps Day Nursery and Preschool has found that children who have already been in our care find the transition quite easy as they are already comfortable with the environment.
For children joining us at preschool level, we offer settling-in sessions to ensure that they feel happy, safe and secure in their new environment.
