The Hawley Place School pupils, all aged between 13 and 15 from the school’s vocal group ‘hpuk’ sang a variety of solos, duets and group numbers including pop, show and folk songs at the open air festival (pictured).

During the visit, the children were given a guided tour of the historic town and treated to a shopping trip in Frankfurt. Some of the children also took part in a 10k fun run.

The pupils commented: “The trip was amazing! We had so much fun meeting lots of new people and learning different ways of life. It was a great experience and we got to know everyone, so we all became best friends’.

Alison Boukhobza Town Twinning Co-ordinator at Rushmoor Borough Council said: “The children and staff from the school feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to take part in the festival. Performing alongside musicians from Oberursel is an experience they will never forget.”

The Twinning Association of Rushmoor also manned a stall at the festival selling traditional beer, cider and whisky.
