Drivers parking on double yellow lines is another of my pet hates. I regularly have to risk my families life trying to get out of a junction onto a busy road because of inconsiderate parking and pulling up on yellow lines outside of a school is a no-brainer.
Locals have though expressed there upset at the zero-tolerance approach from Rushmoor Borough Council to a new system of catching out illegal parkers, using CCTV cameras.
Traffic wardens will be using the cameras to catch out motorists who stop where they should not – taxi ranks, loading bays, bus stops, double yellow lines, outside schools and in disabled bays. Registration details will be recorded on CCTV and owners will receive their parking tickets, with photographic evidence, in the post. So you may not see a traffic warden but could still be caught. Just popping into a shop, dropping the kids at school or using the cash point could cost you.
So beware, the scheme is now live and operates during the day and evenings!
