‘Do it for them – they’re worth it’ is Rushmoor Borough Council’s latest campaign to help residents in Aldershot and Farnborough to stop smoking for their children and loved ones.
Along with support from the NHS Hampshire stop smoking service - Quit4Life, the Council will be setting up information stalls at events, supermarkets and shopping centres over the next couple of months offering free, professional advice and support.
Every smoker who signs up to a local, personal one-to-one session at a ‘Do it for them – they’re worth it’ stand will be offered a free leisure activity for themselves or their family and they will be entered into a daily prize draw to win shopping vouchers. There is also the added bonus of more vouchers as a “well done” once they have quit for 28 days – but only if they sign up to quit at a Rushmoor stand.
During half term, stands will be available at the Farnborough Donkey Derby at King George V Playing Fields on Monday 31st May, at Farnborough Leisure Centre on Tuesday June 3rd, and at HomeStart in Mayfield Community Centre on Monday June 7th.
