Welcome to the Unicorn
A 17th Century coaching Inn, established 1639 in the heart of an historic port town - Kincardine. The Unicorn Inn was the birthplace of celebrated physicist and chemist Sir James Dewar (1842-1923), inventor of the vacuum flask, and the first person to liquefy hydrogen gas.
This innovation still exists today in the unique experience of the new Unicorn Brasserie, where our inspired and passionate Chef's will tempt you with homemade dishes. The Brasserie
The Brasserie, come in relax and dine in our stylish but informal restaurant, at an enjoyable pace and keep your table for the night.
We use fresh produce from Scotland's seasonal larder, our inspired and passionate Chef's will tempt you with homemade dishes. Whether it be bass from the sea around Mull to Malliag, salmon from Shetland or beef from Scottish pastures. We'll give you ingredients and produce to provide you with a dining experience to meet any mood or occasion.
Choose wine from our extensive wine list and finish off your evening with some coffee and our delicious homemade tablet.
Private Dining Room, as an extension to the Brasserie there is a small private dining room which seats up to 10 people, ideal for birthdays or family celebrations, graduations or simply getting together with friends.
The Red Room
The Red Room, perfect for that special occasion. This elegant room can be booked for private dinner parties and family functions of up to 20 people. It is also perfect for business presentations and meetings.
We can customise the menu to suit your requirements, offering set meals of your choice.
You can also book a table on Friday and Saturday nights for a more intimate dining experience.

From the North
Follow signs for Kincardine, at the roundabout before the Kincardine Bridge take the third exit for Kincardine (A977).
At the traffic lights take the first left onto North Approach Road (A876).
Turn right onto Chapel Street, continue down to mini roundabout.
Take first sharp left onto Excise Street, the Unicorn is on your right in the heart of old Kincardine
From the South
Exit the M9, at J7 for the Kincardine Bridge, onto South Approach Road (A876).
Cross the bridge onto North Approach Road (A876).
Turn left onto Chapel Street, continue down to mini roundabout.
Take first sharp left onto Excise Street, the Unicorn is on your right in the heart of old Kincardine
