We just wanted to thankyou for inviting us along to the Panto. Jack, Libby, Polly and myself had a fantastic time. Thank you for your support.
Dream A Way is a great organisation, providing support to many people, not so fortunate as most. We have a 28 year old daughter who has severe learning difficulties and is autistic. Thanks to Dream A Way, we have had some super caravan holidays with Claire, which she has really enjoyed and has provided us with a real family holiday. The Dream A Way helpers that we have met are great people, who give up so much time to help others.
We would like to nominate Dream A Way as our most loved charity in Exeter. The charity is run by a dedicated core of supporters who take no expenses from the funds raised and over 99 percent of the proceeds goes directly to help the charities special guests. As a family we have been lucky enough to stay in one of the charities wonderful caravans at Sandy Bay in Exmouth for the last few years. As parents of a wheelchair bound child, we appreciate more than most the opportunity to spend quality time together as a family.
Thanks once again for your kind generosity to give Annabelle and myself a holiday to sandy bay . The caravan looks wonderful, Its going to be extra special for Annabelle as it,s her birthday the week we will be going. Thank you.
Dream-a-way has been a nominated charity of the Firewatch Group for a number of years , we have supported their events such as the annual Ball since they started as well as making them beneficiaries of our annual golf days for the last three years. It is always a pleasure being around the Dream-a-way team, their commitment and passion for the work they do is superb. What Jeff and Gill and all the Dream-a-way team have achieved makes our small contribution quite insignificant, I hope they continue their excellent work and receive the plaudits they deserve for many more years.
I am the Captain of Honiton Golf Club and have chosen Dream away as my charity for my year of office. I chose them because they are a local charity, none of their charity workers take a salary therefore all the money raised is used for the clients. Their committee members are also a great set of dedicated people. A great example of Exeter people doing a great job.
It was so nice to see my family having fun. Our week at Sandy Bay gave us the chance to be a family. When your sick roles change, it was a great feeling to give them some thing back. I couldn't have done that without Dream-A-Way's help.
Just to say thank you so much for letting us stay at one of your Exmouth caravans. Thanks.
I'm just writing to thank you and everyone at Dream-A-Way for our holiday. I work with people with autism and various other disabilities. This break was a huge benefit to them and was amazing to experience with them. The caravan you provided was beyond our expectations and the surroundings were beautiful!! On behalf of everyone at Eastleigh House a huge thank you and if there is anything that you think we may be able to help with dont hesitate to ask. Yours very thankfully.
Well we would all like to say a massive thank you for our wonderful holiday to Cornwall at the end of August. We had the most amazing time ever and made sure we fitted in as much as possible. St Just is the most breathtaking place, and the cottage, wow! 'We walked in and just cried. It was like winning the lottery! ... We cant thank you all enough for what you gave us, and we won't ever forget your kindness. Dream A Way is extremely important, and I will make it my work to make people aware of that. With all our love and thanks, Claire, husband John, Kayleigh 8, Zak 14, and my beautiful mum Georgie 56, cancer survivor! xxxxxx
Annabelle really did have the time of her life and we cannot wait to go again. Thanks.
I’m writing to say thank you so very much for a wonderful week at the caravan “Charlie Thomas” at Sandy Bay. We enjoyed it immensely and are most grateful to you for providing us with the opportunity...and so quickly! I shall be sending a donation in the post (I don’t know who goes into the caravans not from Dream-Away, so thought it more prudent to send it directly to you.The caravan itself is lovely and spacious – baby Felix enjoyed crawling round and round and had a “field-day” opening and shutting all the doors and cupboards over and over again! I gave it a good clean and *hoover before we left and left a few “essentials” for the next occupants. Its location within the site was ideal for us too – right on the outskirts it was lovely and quiet and provided hours of entertainment for Ruan (5) watching the wildlife in the field behind, and was safe for him to play outside! It was also conveniently near to the swimming pool! And, of course, the site itself is so beautifully placed near the seaside and with plenty to do both on the site and at the beach. We have withdrawal symptoms already! It was such a lovely break – and, not being too far from our home and Bristol, made a “holiday” possible for us, given that every Tuesday and Friday Felix has to attend Bristol Children’s Hospital for treatment. We even got picked up from the site by the same “hospital ambulance transport” driver! Anyway, thank you once again.
We are back from our fab holiday in Tenerife. It was everything we wanted and more. The weather was great, lots of sunbathing and relaxing done. We met loads of lovely people who have invited us to meet up when they get home. It has done us the world of good, and I just do not know how to say how much we have appreciated this dream gift. I will upload a few photos I have taken, but unfortunately my camera phone is not great but the pics are not too bad. We are sad to come home especially to this terrible weather!! SoJjeff a BIG BIG THANK YOU to Dream a way.
We had a fantastic holiday!! The weather was perfect and the boys loved the hours on the beach. Really, we do so appreciate staying and fingers crossed for us for next year again? A huge thanks again.
Thank you so much for our holiday at Sandy Bay. The caravan was fabulous and the ramp was such a bonus for Matt and Bert (who have trouble with steps). The weather was very kind to us although I'm sure we would still have had a lovely time. Bert enjoyed the views and Matt and Tony enjoyed the entertainment and leisure complex. Matt's efforts at swimming greatly improved and Tony swam for the first time in 7 years!!!! He used to be such a good swimmer, but stopped swimming when he became ill and then wouldn't try again - so this was a huge step forward - thank you all so much. Matt just kept saying "It was a lovely holiday - thank you."
We have enjoyed several holidays to Haven parks over the years. A couple of years ago, I found out about Dream-A-Way during a corporate karting event in Exeter. I contacted them to see if they could help us, as our daughter Nicole was diagnosed with cancer on her spine aged just 4, and the tumour left her confined to a wheelchair. We were fed up with "making do" with inaccessible caravans and holiday homes, and as Nicole gets bigger, it gets harder and harder to lift her. Our first trip to Sandy Bay in Exmouth confirmed our suspicion that there must be an easier way of doing things. From the start, Jeff and all of his willing helpers made us feel special, and having ramped access into the caravan, and accessible bathroom facilities made it easier for all of us. Nicole and her sister Lauren love the park, and enjoy meeting new friends, going to the beach, and partying into the evenings. Thanks to all at Dream-A-Way for what you do, you make such a difference to so many people.
We would to thank u all for helping us to take our boys to the USA. It was very cool. The boys loved it and so did we. Made there dreams come true.
The family would also like to thank you for your surport to get us over to Disney... It was a dream come true and we thank you from all of us.
I am just writing to you just to say thank you for the Holiday you have provided for me and Charlotte to go to Disneyland Paris. Thank you for your help and Dream A Way for getting the money raised for me and Charlotte to go away.
I would like to say a big thank you for our holiday last week. Jim and I had a lovely time. The caravan was wonderful. If Jim and I can ever do anything to help raise money for Dream A Way we would be very happy to help in any way. We hope to be able to use your wonderful facilities again. Thank you so much. I often wonder if you do really understand what a difference you do make. Good people like you are few and far between. Keep up the good work.
We would like to say a big thank you for a much appreciated holiday and break. Though I can't muster up the words, please believe how thankful we are for your generosity and kindness to allow this to happen. A BIG THANK YOU.
Thank you so much for helping us take our holiday to Rhodes. We arrived back the early hours of Thursday morning to a cold Exeter. Thanks again to everyone at Dream-A-Way for supporting us with this holiday. We wouldn't of been able to go without your assistance. If there's anything we can do for you in return just ask, and I will see if we can help.
I can't thank you and Dream A Way enough for your massive generous contribution. I will keep in touch as when we return from this holiday meand Jo may be putting a article in the local paper explaining the circumstances of Jo`s illness and the massive support we have had frompeople. Many thanks.
We had the most wonderful time in Disney Paris - a really amazing experience, and both Anthony and his sister Jo-Anna really loved it. It was great to have the time away somewhere - so special to have a chance to relax and have fun as a family. Thanks again.
Well here we are back from a wonderful holiday. We stayed in a different hotel in Torbole. It was better, because it was in the town and on the flat. The weather was beautiful, too hot for me but we took it easy. We went to Venice and rode in a gondola. I will send some pictures as soon as I can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it possible. I didn't have pain in my shoulders all week. My feet were a bit puffy, but I think that was the heat. Lots of love to all the dream team.
Dreamaway made a very difficult time in my life easier to cope with by providing me with my dream of swimming with dolphins. It remains the most memorable experience of my life.
I cannot praise Dream-A-Way enough....and this is the reason.3 years ago in the summer of 2008, I wrote to Dream -A-Way telling them about a very good friend of mine Laraine and her son Tony, who had Down's syndrome, Laraine's Mother had been killed in a Car accident the year before, of course she meant the world to them all especially Tony, and He had been so sad since. I suggested that they could do with a lovely safe holiday well apart from staying at Laraine's house.....and boy did Dream-A-Way come up trumps!! they were given a lovely holiday in a caravan at Sandy Bay...they went swimming, played crazy golf and joined in lots of activities, they all had such a great time, I visited them twice during the week and they were so happy showing me around. So I'm sure you will understand how grateful I am to Dream-A-Way for giving them all such a lovely holiday.
Since we were put in contact with Dream-a-way a few years ago we have'nt looked back. Every year we look forward to our week away from it all in Exmouth. we know the team do a great job and deserve every bit of help available. Keep smiling from Clive and Ang in Teignmouth
My testimonial is that I am a former press officer for Dream-A-Way , who has written stories about the charity in my capacity as an Express and Echo reporter. What I like about the charity is that the volunteers plough all the funds that are raised directly into helping deserving people and that it is a local charity which has grown from grass-roots thanks to the enthusiasm of its members. Dream-A-Way has provided smiles, fun and special moments for people who have faced tragedies or tough challenges in their life and each holiday or break is tailored to the needs of each person who receives it. Also, whenever I have met Dream-A-Way volunteers, they are kind, friendly people with a good sense of humour who make sure that fundraising and other events are fun for everyone who takes part.
Dream-a-way, has given my husband and I some lovely days out, which are well organised and great fun, and lift the spirits when they are low. They have also offered us a holiday, which is giving us something to plan and look forward to this year.
I have been playing Claude, The Comedy waiter for many years now and still the one event that I look forward to performing at is The Dream-a-way Ball and their Golf Days. The events are top rate! They are proffessionally run, slick and smooth and of course big, big fun.The guests are spoilt rotten with great food, great presentation and great entertainment (ahem). I have said it once and I will say it again, Jeff and his team are saints and deserve recognition for their tireless efforts.
We have been associated with Dream-a-Way for a number of years now as letting agents for their caravans at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park just outside Exmouth, Devon. The service we provide helps them to produce an income to offset the expenses they incur in site fees and maintenance of the caravans, which enables Dream-a-Way to provide holidays to people who would otherwise be unable to afford a holiday. We are very honoured to be associated with what we consider an extremely worthwhile cause.
There is no doubt whatsoever that Dream-A-Way should be, or is already in real terms, 'Exeter's Most Loved Charity'. During my years of association with you all, I have always admired the team spirit behind the organisation. It's not just because I know some of you personally, but that the " proof of the pudding is in the eating " as the saying goes. Not only does the charity care for those in need as individuals in Devon, but for their carers as well. It has been, and will continue to be, my pleasure to support Dream-A-Way whenever I can. I will continue to donate part proceeds from the sale of my books when they are purchased I have seen the facilities afforded for holidays, I have read the accounts of outings and visits to events organised by the charity and their supporters that have given hours of pleasure to those in need. Had it not been for Dream-A-Way and their 'team'. None of this would be possible. I support many charities and good causes, but this one is special.
We have worked with Jeff and Gill since the “birth” of Sandy Park back in early 2006. From the moment I met them both I could see their enthusiasm and commitment to the Charity. Also they never stop, from organizing and running of the Summer Ball so get to bed at 2am and then up in the morning cleaning chalets down at Sandy Bay, don’t know how they do it!Also the energy they put into their events is obvious as their events are themed and great fun. I can speak both as the venue but also I always attend their events because they are terrific value for the amount of entertainment and lots of little extras they provide like Ladies Gifts, table decorations, pre and post dinner entertainment, just great nights. There is also a sense of commitment from the attendees that they want to raise funds for this worthwhile Charity.
I chose Dream-A-Way as my Mayoral Charity for 2009/10. We had a great year and raised a considerable amount of money. We had a lot of fun during the year. I cannot speak highly enough of the people running Dream-A-Way and all the people that help them. They are highly dedicated and hard working. A wonderful organisation bringing happiness to people less fortunate than ourselves.
Hollywood Limos have supplied stretched limos for Jeff and his amazingly well run charity on several occasions. The smile and enjoyment it brings to the disadvantaged is so rewarding.Dream away wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Jeff's enthusiasm and his team of dedicated volunteers working in their own time and unpaid! We have worked with other organisations but dream away is always appreciative and have time to thank the volunteers.I think they are more than worthy of being the Most Loved Charity in Exeter.
