Welcome and Introduction from Roger Paine, Musical Director
For five days in July Evesham will be quite literally alive to the sound of music. And it will be music that is "home grown", performed by a wide range of local musicians and musical organisations. In this way we plan to celebrate the wealth of our local musical talent whilst at the same time providing a low cost opportunity for Evesham residents to listen to live music.
The theme for the 2009 Festival is "Evesham … our past and our future". This means we will be looking back (in particular to the founding of Evesham Abbey some 1300 years ago - an event which is being celebrated more widely in the town), as well as thinking ahead to the future of Evesham after the credit crunch.
Venues will be spread across the town, with 5 evening concerts plus daytime recitals and fringe events at the weekend:
