The Irony formed in 2004 in Evesham with front man and songwriter David Hughes from Evesham and talented bassist Barrie White both writing material previous to the band forming.Entertainers one and all
BIOGRAPHY Hi we are the irony, a four piece alternative outfit from Evesham,we re-formed in 2007 and have been busy doing gigs up and down the country ever since, Including Camden Town, Hammersmith and the presitgious Cavern Club in Liverpool. We have also been Playing festivals this summer and have been lucky enough to play along side top artists such as Envy and other Sins, Royworld and Sam Issac. We have recently finished recording our debut demo album which has generated much interested from local radio and press, and recieved some great reviews as well as being voted the best band of 2008 by BBC Hereford and Worcester. We are very excited about the direction the band is heading in and we are working very hard to open up new oppotunities for our band to progress.

So, some news then, our local BBC Introducing outfit gave us quite an accolade the other week by not only putting us in the list of Top10 tracks of 2008 for 'A Mans Fears', which is nice enough, but they put it in as their Number 1 favourite. Check out some of the other bands too but only after you've taken in the reason for The Irony's renaissance in 2008. :)

Ten Stories High has an online release date. It'll be released on 10th February 2009 Worldwide on iTunes and on some of the biggest American sites like Amazon, Napster etc, so for those who haven't been able to get it on cd in Evesham or at one of our gigs, because you're either not local or are at uni or are one of the luvly Kiwis, Ozzies, Americans, Canadians, Bosnians, Spanish or Dubai'ians (?) who like are stuff you can soon download the album into your very own house. Strangely, part of the online download deal is that you'll be able to get Irony ringtones for your phone too.
