Evesham Dog Grooming Academy offers a Dog Grooming service either with Carole the proprietor, who is highly qualified in both grooming and teaching and has a wealth of experience with all breeds of dogs, or with a fully supervised trainee. Carole runs City & Guilds courses in dog grooming allowing students to learn the skills to start their own dog grooming business.
Which Animals do we cater for?
Any breed of dogs also cats and smaller animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs can be catered for.
I am very patient and experienced in handling animals that may be nervous, aggressive,Even elderly and disabled dogs and I am more than willing to allow the extra time needed to complete their grooming session.
Sometimes an additional charge may be required if extra time is needed, but you can be assured that your dog will be in very good hands.
We are open Mon to Fri 8.30am to 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.
A Full Groom will include the following:
( though any of these treatments can be offered seperately)
Health checking and reporting observations to owner
Ears and eyes cleaned
Nails trimmed
Brushing through to remove the loose hair, knots and tangles and to reduce moulting
Emptying anal glands
Shampooing in a luxurious hydrobath.(If you have a vet prescribed shampoo please bring this with you)
Coat conditioning
Drying according to your dog's coat type and style
Styling with clippers and/or scissors or hand-stripping suitably coated breeds
I will take into account the temperament of the dog and get to know it before I start the grooming as your dog must enjoy the experience and be subjected to the minimal of stress- I will treat your dog as if it were my own !

Model Dogs:
As Carole offers individual dog grooming tuition in addition to the grooming salon service, there is a requirement for relatively well behaved dogs to be groomed by a well-supervised trainee. These dogs will be groomed at a reduced rate (or sometimes free of charge if a specific breed is required). The first aid course was extremely invaluable for not just groomers but pet dog owners and any individual running a dog business. The tutoring is relaxed and stimulating. The venue also has a very relaxed feel. Facilities are excellent. Friendly environment aids learning. I completed a level 3 dog grooming course this year, loved it - and have now set up my own small dog grooming salon. If you are thinking of doing the same, you HAVE to do it with Carole. From day one you have your own dog to do - do not be put off health and safety is never compromised for dog or student -you will get one to one training with your dog you will be shown exactly what to do and she is very patient believe me. Please go and see Carole you will not regret it. Best of luck!

Carole is an excellent tutor & the training I received was 1st rate. I thought the ratio of students to tutor very good as it meant that Carole could oversee what each person was doing all the time. The premises are bright, clean and cheerful making it a really pleasant place to train. I gained a distinction in both the written l3 exam papers, and give the credit to Carole. She has given me the confidence to go on and complete the C & G l3 diploma in dog grooming. Thank you so much Carole. Jill
I recently completed the level 3 C&G course and thouroughly enjoyed it. Although i've been grooming for about 3 years, the course gave ne a better understanding and a chance to update my skills. I will hopefully be back to do the handstripping part of the diploma as soon as possible.
I studied the cert 2 in dog grooming taught by carole gowers. The course is a great start to dog grooming and gives you all the basic training and knowledge you need to start grooming. Carole was a fantastic teacher and really helped you with anything you were struggling with. Highly recommended to want to be groomers or just to be a better dog owner.
I did the level three course with carole last year and have just got my written exam results through...... i passed with two distinctions!!(thanks carole) i found the course easy to follow i think thats because carole is such a good teacher. she made it very interesting and gave me lots of tips and guidance. thanks jackie k
I did my level two this year with Carole and i must say it is the best thing i have ever done. The grooming parlour is amazing. Carole is a very good supportive teacher. I started of not knowing anything at all about grooming and now i am in the process of setting up my own Business thanks to Caroles help. I found Evesham Dog Grooming Academy on the Internet, and I am so pleased that I did. Carole got me onto a course as soon as she could. It was a very clear and concise course and for me that was excellent as it was a complete change of career. Carole's method of training is first class and you get lots of hands on training, not just text books.
