I have used Adrian and the team at About Bikes for a number of years and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to buy a bike, kit, or needing servicing or repairs. I bought a bike from them and use them for all my servicing. You get good honest advice from the passionate, enthusiastic, skilled and friendly team and the work they do is always professional and swift.

Ade and his team are easily the most knowledgeable bike mechanics I've ever come across. Ive been using About Bikes for the last 5 years. They have supplied my last 3 mountain bikes and have maintained them throughout. They always go that extra mile to keep me rolling-even robbing a part from a demo bike to allow me to ride over a weekend. I dont think theres another shop that would give such service.
Really impressed with these guys. Loads of bikes and accessories in stock, great service department, impressive knowledge of everything bikes and they always go that bit further to help us out.They were reccomended to me by a friend and glad we found them!
100% Service. Adrian's knowledge and experience make a big difference to a purchase being made. I was able to ride demo bikes to check sizing and level of group set, thus enabling me compare between bikes and make the right choice. I was kept up to speed on the ordering and arrival of the bike by phone. Over the past four years I have bought bikes for my wife,daughter and myself from About Bikes at very competetive prices. Each time they have been very helpful, even allowing me to take a mountain bike on a Sunday ride before commiting to buy it.
Great place - good advice for the novice, well stocked, helpful staff. They provide the complete package, offering teaching on maintenance and also arranging bike rides on local routes twice per week. Highly recommended.
Give Ade a call and you will get the advice you need to buy the right bike for you at a competitive price but more than that it will be backed up by service you rarely find anywhere these days, j have now bought about 10 bikes and recommended many more to my friends and always received the same deals and service. The advice in choosing the right bike is second to none and the after sales support is superb.With the regular rides that the shop arranges you can try out your new bike knowing that you have your own support crew with you if have any questions .. what could be better!

A friend sent me a link to About Bikes website and thank goodness he did its so refreshing to be able to click about and see the bikes that are actually in the shop for you to try, touch, size up.The visit to the shop just made my mind up that this was the shop to supply my new hybrid bike, I got 3 bikes recommended to me and was allowed to test each one and see the differences for myself.The guys are so knowledgable and enthusiastic and dont push you to buy the dearest bike...infact Jon the sales guy advised me to choose a slightly cheaper option which was really refreshing.Since the purchase I have had a free first service and the bikes magnificant...hoorah for About Bikes!!

Dropped in with my bike today with a broken rear gear changer.The shop I purchased the bike from couldnt get the part for 3 days...About Bikes had one on the shelf!!! How great...I got my bike fixed whilst I waited. You cant beat service like that.Guess where I'll be shopping from now on??

Friendly service, good selection, demo bikes available so you can put them through their paces before parting with your cash, which you can also do on one of the organised rides. Website has advice and tips on maintenance, with videos showing you what to do.All in all, best bike shop I've ever used
The excellent knowledge and expertise of the staff. The personal care and and attention, way beyond the best that the likes of Halfords could ever hope to achieve. The proprietor 'Ade' is passionate about cycling. He is able to offer advice, support and assitance with any problems or issues you may experience with your bike or ownership, including cycle to work schemes. As an example of hi care and attention,I recently had a break-in and my road and mountain bike were both stolen. Ade personally assited in numerous ways with the police and insurance to provide frame numbers and identification and also putting the word out amongst the local cycling community.Ade also organises weekends away for interested local cyclists and twice weekly guided outings exploring the highways, byeways and off-road trails.About Bikes delivers the kind of personal service that once made this country renowned as a 'Nation of Shopkeepers'. Great guys, great shop and great future discounts for me :-)
It is so nice to be able to go into a shop and be treated like a friend. The staff are happy to have a chat, a laugh and divulge their knowledge to make your visit there so worthwhile. Of course, they want to sell things ... but it is more than that. They are just happy friendly good all round guys.The service they provide is excellent. Having had a problem with my bike, they went all out with the suppliers to try to get it fixed under warranty. Easy parking on site as well.
I brought a bike from about bikes as I wanted to buy from a local store incase of any issues + for servicing. About Bikes offered excellent service, competitive pricing and were always willing to help. 8 months down the line I have had a few issues due to wear and tear of which they were more than happy to provide advice from just one quick call.I would more than recommend purchasing a bike from about bikes they are an asset to the Bike industry and wouldn't hesitate buying from them again.
A friendly and very knowledgable bunch. They clearly know their stuff but don't look down at those who don't. Always had great experience there and love having a mouch around the shop. It's well kitted and laid out. Service team are top-drawer too...which reminds me, I must get my bike booked in!
The simple answer would be communication really. The guys there just keep you informed of what is going on via (non in ya face) e-mail, which in this day and age of electronic SPAM rubbish is very refreshing indeed. I don't know of any other businesses that, for their size, do the job of not offending their customers like About-bikes do..Competitively priced in the market place is cruciual too and that they are..!!!!Craig Casey 07966 49409

Great level of customer service, plenty of bikes to choose from over a huge range. Repair service to the highest quality with a brilliant email quotation system. Worth a look if your interested in buying or repairing your bike.
After visiting 3 other "quality" bike shops with my sticking gears I finally dropped the bike in at About Bikes. Not only did they repair it when the other 3 couldnt do so, they also did a full health check and emailed me the findings-one particularly dangerous one which, again, had been missed by the others.The repair work was carried out efficiently along with progress updates via email, and the bike now runs better than I can remember it doing so before.This is a prime example of service as it should be.I truly felt my pride and joy was in honest, capable hands......I am now an About Bikes customer full stop!!

Brought my full suspension there two years ago following looking around the area for a)the right bike, b)the right support and c) someone I felt comfortable with to invest that amount of money (not pushy like others!). About bikes sold me a great bike and have serviced it ever since. Support and advice is realistic and suited to me which is ideal considering I'm a poor student!, well worth a visit. nice bikes too!
