Antarctica and the Heroic Age of Polar Exploration - Presented by Angie Butler
A hundred years ago, the greatest names of polar exploration Scott, Shackleton, Amundsen and Mawson set out to discover the unforgiving continent of Antarctica.
Their expeditions demanded extraordinary bravery comparative to early space exploration.
Angie Butler brings to life an unrivalled time in our history and describes how she uncovered one of the great Polar mysteries of recent time.
Angie Butler was born and educated in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She is the author of 'Ice Tracks - Today's Heroic Age of Polar Adventure' and co-founder of the adventure travel company Ice Tracks Expeditions named after her book.
She lives in Warwickshire with her husband the Royal Academician, James Butler and their five daughters.
