ASSISTING HORSE RIDERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

A special opportunity for young people (18+) or keen adults to volunteer as part of a team to support disabled children as they learn to ride, groom horses and perform tasks around the stable.  No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.  The role would suit somebody with enormous patience, the ability to work as part of a team, a degree of physical fitness and good people skills.  Knowledge of horses is desirable but not essential.  Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm.  ELM1411

CAR DRIVERS NEEDED
Careful and considerate drivers are needed by a number of organisations in all areas of Elmbridge to help people who find it difficult to get out and about for doctors, clinic or hospital appointments, shopping and prescription collection etc.  Must be car owners or have access to a car.  Home based duty officers are also needed to receive calls on a rota basis and to co-ordinate transport.  For both roles a willingness to help with a friendly attitude and an empathy with the elderly is essential.

OLYMPICS-INSPIRED EVENT STEWARDS (16+)
Volunteers are required for a one-off Olympics inspired event to be held on Saturday 23/6/2012 between 11am and 5pm.  There are a variety of roles including activities such as car parking assistance, providing information to the general public and marshalling.  The ideal person would be friendly, helpful and happy working with the general public.  ELM1410

GIRL-GUIDING ASSISTANT LEADER

VOLUNTEERS’ CO-ORDINATOR
An exciting opportunity to become a part of a team of Trustees for a local charity involved in care for the elderly, disabled and families.  The ideal person would be experienced in supporting staff within the areas of volunteering, management or support and be computer literate with good organisational skills.  The role includes administration, committee work, Trusteeship and employee/group volunteering.  The position is part-time and time flexible.  ELM1380
