The Annual Fair and Dog Show on Sunday 27 May saw Princess Alice Hospice open its beautiful gardens, with the fundraising team and the Friends of Princess Alice Hospice committee welcoming over 1,300 supporters and together everyone helped to raise a wonderful £15,000 profit, this was almost double what was raised at the 2011 event.

A very important guest in attendance was newly appointed Worshipful Mayor of Elmbridge, Janet Turner (pictured left) who has selected the Hospice as her mayoral charity of the year with the specific aim of funding the Hospice’s new ‘8 to 8’ home nursing service.

The Hospice is very proud to have the continuing support of UK Garrison who returned and gave supporters the opportunity to have their photographs taken with the iconic Star Wars characters in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Guests were entertained by local choirs, school music groups, Chinese sword dancing and martial art displays, archery, arts and crafts area, a huge range of shopping stalls, face painting and much more. Returning for the fourth time was the hugely popular and fun dog show - classes included best veteran dog, prettiest girl and handsome boy, musical sits and dog most like its owner.

The event could not happen without a huge amount of community support and the team at the Hospice would like to thanks Garsons for their continued support in providing FREE car parking, a minibus service shuttle to the Hospice.

The company also gave everyone attending the event a 10% discount voucher. Thanks must also be extended to all the local schools, sports teams and groups who generously shared their time and skills and to the dedicated volunteers who helped the wonderful day go so smoothly.
