Each year Ember Bowls Club hosts a charity night fundraiser, a charity is chosen by the Men’s and Ladies’ Captains - this year’s chosen charity was Princess Alice Hospice.

Malcolm Baird, Men’s Captain said: ‘Princess Alice Hospice was selected as it is a vital, local and very worthy cause. It provides high standards of care and support across the community. We as a club are delighted to be able to support the team towards their yearly costs of over £8 million’.

The event took place on Friday 24 August and saw hundreds of guests enjoy a delicious three-course dinner and an array of entertainment from Paulette Lythall founder member of Quazar, a musical theatre group whose sole purpose is to raise money for charities. A grand raffle, donations, and the ever popular heads and tails game raised a wonderful £1728.

Ashleigh Perfett from Princess Alice Hospice visited the September 10 when it hosted its finals completion and met with Malcolm Baird and Jenny Baird, the Men’s and Ladies’ Captains.
