Starlight Dance Academy holds classes in a wide range of performing arts, including ballet, freestyle, street dance, tap and modern jazz. The Academy has extensive extra curricular activities such as workshops, festivals, shows and presentation classes. Classes are held in Thames Ditton, near Esher, throughout the year.
OUR ETHOS AT STARLIGHT DANCE ACADEMY
Starlight offers a warm and friendly environment for pupils to learn a variety of professional, disciplined art forms. Pupils may wish to pursue a career in the performing arts or simply attend for enjoyment and fun.
Our busy schedule of classes, held at the St Nicholas Parish Hall, Thames Ditton are open to Boys and Girls aged 2 years - Adult. Qualified dance teachers all of whom are CRB checked and first aid trained deliver an exciting curriculum, which is both stimulating and challenging.
The Academy enters pupils for IDTA, RAD, BTDA and LAMDA examinations and has extensive extra curricular activities such as workshops, festivals, shows and presentation classes.
All new prospective pupils are invited to sign up for a four week trial, before enrolling fully.
Siblings receive a 5% discount on all classes.
AIMS OF THE ACADEMY
- Provide pupils the opportunity to experience a wide variety of performing art disciplines.
- Encourage, praise and reward effort and achievement.
- Respect each individual pupil and encourage his/her potential.
- Provide high standards of teaching in all aspects of the performing arts.
- Extend the pupils opportunities by performing outside of the Academy at Festivals, London/Local Theatre's, and IDTA/RAD seminars.

My daughters have been attending Starlight from the age of 18 months they are 6 and 10 now. Clare and her team make every class special and fun.

My daughter is 5 now has been going to Starlight ACademy for ballet lessons for over 2 years now and she absolutely loves it. Clare is extremely professional and such a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. I would highly recommend these classes for any little girls and boys eager to start ballet and other forms of dance .
My daughter has been at Starlight now for 5 years and loves it. Clare and Carol are very professional and the classes are always fun. Every other year there is a phenomenal show put on at Epsom which the children love to take part in and is a great experience.
My daughter has been going to Starlight each week since she was 3 years old - she is now 11 and still loves her classes just as much. Clare runs a brilliantly organised school which focuses on both the learning and enjoyment of the pupils. Her team are all superb at their jobs and pass on their expertise and enthusiasm for dance easily to the children. A very successful and highly recommended academy.
My daughter has been going to starlight for about 5 -6 year and she says its great fun. They have great qulified teachers and you learn brilliant dance moves. The teachers are also great at helping her get ready for shows. Right now I do musical theater and street dance but there are loads of other like ballet and tap!!!!!!!
My daughter has been at Starlight for nearly 7 years and loves her weekly classes in Musical Theatre and Freestyle. I think the main thing that stands out at the Academy is how well all of the students get on together creating a really friendly atmosphere. Clare and her team are full of enthusiasm and work extremely hard to put on amazing shows and to prepare the students for their exams. well done Starlight !
Both my girls have been doing classes in Ballet and Tap with Starlight for a few years now & they absolutely love it. The show that the Academy put on last summer was top class, I would have paid to see it even if my children hadn't been in it! Clare Bennett is an excellent teacher whom my girls really respond too. I would highly recommend Starlight Academy!
I've been at Starlight for 7 years now and I love it, I love dancing and have made so many new friends. I really enjoyed performing in the shows, they have been amazing experiences and I look forward to my dance classes every week :)
My son joined Starlight at 18 months old in January 2005 and my daughter joined just before her second birthday in 2007... both of them attended Ballet and Musical Theatre classes - my daughter still attends Musical Theatre on a Saturday morning. We love the family atmosphere there and my kids have come on leaps and bounds in their classes. Both have performed in the various shows and we have been SO proud seeing them up on the stage really giving it their all. Every child, no matter how talented they are individually, is given the chance to shine and participate and made to feel a star. Clare and Zoe are treasured by my children as was previously Sarah. Carol, Clare's mum, makes us giggle on a Saturday morning and the kids love her! I would wholeheartedly recommend Starlight for anyone who has a budding star on their hands or even for the shyest child whose confidence needs a boost and whose talent needs to be nurtured. They are the BEST!
My two daughters attend ballet at Starlight. Clare and Carol and all the team are fantastic. The shows they have produced at Epsom Playhouse have been outstanding and very professional. Clare is also incredibly flexible and has really put herself out to accommodate my older daughter's other activities. I am truly impressed!
My daughter has been dancing at Starlight for over 4 years - she did not know anyone when she first started. Her confidence has grown immensely and she has made friends with a lovely group of young ladies. Claire, Carol and the rest of the Team work tirelessly for their pupils, and ensure that they have fun as well as learn.
I've been at Starlight for over 5 years and it's BRILLIANT! Such a variety or dance styles and everyone is so nice! Teachers are awesome and doing shows is just a fabulous experience for everyone, especially the younger students. You'll make friends so easily here!! :D

My daughter joined Starlight when she was 3 after searching for a Saturday morning class. She is now 6 and I had forgotten how nervous she was those first couple of classes. Carol and Claire encouraged her to join in and now when we watch the end of term class she likes to remind us she is in the big girls class and looks forward to moving up to a new coloured cardigan! She has also recently started the tap class which she loves. A welcoming, organised, children orientated, friendly dance school, I hope Alexandra continues to enjoy dance and feel part of the Starlight family for a long time yet.
My daughter Lily is a relative newcomer to Starlight at the age of 11 and does both Street Jazz and Musical Theatre. She really loves it and I wish she'd joined earlier! The staff are very professional and provide an extremely welcoming environment for their pupils.
My daughter has been attending Starlight now for over 3 years and it is the highlight of her week. She has had confidence issues over the past year but Starlight has really helped to boost her self confidence and she is always at her happiest there. The teachers are excellent, and the productions Clare and her team put together are spectacular and professional and the children all enjoy every minute of it. My daughters aged 2 and 4 absolutely love their weekly ballet classes with Starlight. My youngest wants to dress up in her ballet costume all the time and my eldest often asks during the week, 'Is it ballet today?' because she wants her next lesson! My daughter has been going to Starlight since she was 2yrs old. She loves to dance and Starlight keeps it fun. They do a big show every other year, and the children love it! The other year they are graded, so it's not all about what grade their on! Highly recommend Starlight Academy of Dance!
My 5 year old daughter started attending Ballet classes last year and absolutely loves it! Starlight run a huge range of classes from ballet to street and I know my daughter will have a good choice as she gets older and will be attending for a long while... She has already shown interest in attending additional tap dance lessons ....all I have to do is find the time! Starlight comes highly recommended and is very popular.
Our 9 year old daughter has been with the academy since she was 3. She now does four types of dance each week and has grown so much in skill and confidence. Dance is now her main interest and she particularly enjoys the shows they undertake every other year where the girls perform on a professional stage and really get to experience the thrill and excitement of this massive team effort. Although it has grown, the academy is run by a dedicated family-led team who know all the girls and mums really well and therefore it retains a personal feel.
From the age of 2 my girls have danced with starlight. They enjoy ballet and tap under the supervision of Clare and her team. My eldest who is 9 has taken part in 2 successful shows with the academy, which highlight the fantastic teaching and the skills learn't in classes. My daughter was one of the very first pupils when Starlight opened in Thames Ditton. She has learned so much and has participated in three highly professional Academy shows at the Epsom Playhouse which have been a wonderful experience for all the performers. Clare is an inspirational teacher with a dedicated team. They enable all pupils to reach very high standards.
