The Hospice provides the best possible care for people facing the end of their life.
This could be for any length of time - years or just days.
The nurses, whether those in the community, visiting patients in their own homes, or at the Hospice itself, support not only the patient but also their family, friends and carers. This could be in so many ways; providing pain relief, advice, arranging therapy treatments, liaising with doctors, consultants and district nurses with the aim of the patient being able to choose how they wish to be cared for.
Over 800 patients are cared for at any time and this care costs over £7million each year, with over 75% of this amount needing to come from the local community.

I have been working as a volunteer at the Hospice for over 2 years now, initially starting as a driver (which I still do) but last year I was invited on the training course with a view to joining the bereavement team and was fortunately successful. I find both activities very satisfying and think PAH a centre of excellence and professionalism. Everybody is most appreciative and helpful for the volunteer support and I enjoy very much being part of the whole team.

The Princess Alice hospice is wonderful. I help in the day centre. There is an atmosphere there which is quite unique. Staff, volanteers and patients. There are no more words to describe it.

Princess Alice Hospice is a great charity, not just in Esher but across Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. For 25 years the Hospice has been providing vital end of life care to patients and support to family and friends of patients at a difficult time.

I am incredibly proud to work at the Hospice and raise the profile of the charity to ensure the dedicated and experienced staff can provide the very best patient care and the education department can continue to increase knowledge of Hospice care amongst the general public and increase the skills and experience of healthcare professionals.

Volunteers and Friends Groups who support the Hospice and its chain of 30 shops are a vital part of the organisation and play a huge role in raising money and awareness. I am inspired by their dedication and it is great to see the local community supporting the Hospice and in turn the Hospice providing care and support to the community.

I have been working at the Hospice in the Events Department for almost 8 months now. The time has absolutely flown by, in part due to the fact that I'm working on the great Events the Hospice has to offer but mostly because the people I work with are fantastic! Everyone works above and beyond because they care so much about the Hospice and that really makes a difference to your workplace.
