TOY BARNHAUS in The Ashley Centre has won a major award at the 2012 Toy Industry Awards.
The much loved toy shop had been shortlisted for Specialist Multiple Toy Retailer of the Year, however they were surprised and delighted to be awarded the Judge's Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Achievement in Toy Retail.
Manager Jill Stevens said: “We really weren’t expecting to win this award as it wasn’t something we were nominated for. The judges told us it had been awarded to us as they recognised we had given high levels of customer service and that the company had grown in a difficult market. We have gone from one to six stores in the last three years.”
The Ashley Centre Manager David Beddows said:” We are delighted that Toy Barnhaus has won this award and would like to offer our sincere congratulations to them. They are a valued part of our retail community and we are very happy that they have been nationally acknowledged by industry experts. It goes to show that even in extremely difficult trading conditions there can be growth in some markets.”
