Musical Tuition in Schools
Do you want to start a weekly drumming session in school time? Well, we will provide the drums and run the sessions. During those sessions you will see a highly motivated group of children working with full concentration and alertness towards making music they fully enjoy.
Venavi Drums Ltd will
- Loan up to 30 African drums to your school for the sessions.
- Do a half-day of drumming each week with at least 2 classes for a minimum of a term.
- Run lunch-time or after-school African Drumming Club with interested children.
- Run family learning sessions involving children and their parents and carers.
Whole Day Workshops
From 9.30 to 3.10 PM
VENAVI DRUMS does one-off whole day drumming and dancing musical tuition workshops in schools in and around Enfield. Venavi Drums brings suitcases of real African clothes in all sizes for all participants to wear before the sessions begin. Every participant is given his/her own drum to use during the music lessons workshops.
We provide enough drums to interested schools and run the clubs and do a one- hour music lesson session per week. Participants are able to perform drumming and dancing by the end of a term's work.
VENAVI DRUMS' work in schools involves:
1. Presenting some aspects of the African culture in the most positive and exciting manner to all participants. E.g. music and dance, clothes made from African fabrics.
2. Using African music and musical instruments as a vehicle to re-enforce listening skills, alertness and concentration in class.
3. Presenting a positive image of the background of African and African Caribbean children.
4. Creating a healthy environment in which all participants share these exciting aspects of the African culture.
5. Motivating children during our sessions to bring out hidden talents in music
6. Presenting the opportunity to every young person to show their creative ability.
Adult Drumming Classes
We run evening drumming classes for adult students.
Additionally we run teacher training workshops in African Music.
