A few years back one of my clients mentioned an organised networking event called BNI and suggested I attend a meeting. I did a little research online and found a large community with hundreds of different groups (know as chapters) meeting all over the country. Unfortunately for me, only one company per business type/category is allowed to join each chapter and web design proved to be a popular category, but I never let this deter me. After some further research I found a new chapter starting up quite local to me. I was so blown away by the whole concept (even though there was only 10-12 business people there at the time) that I signed up there and then. I have now been a member of the same group for nearly 3 years and the amount of new business I receive has never dropped, it has been our second biggest new business source continually. A must have for any serious businesses.

I joined BNI some 20 months ago an discovered that itʼs a great way to generate more business. We have approx 30 members at present and we have a breakfast meeting every Friday, which is fun but at the same time has a serious purpose and that is to give fellow members business leads. The others all try to refer business to me as well and I have certainly obtained business that I wouldnʼt have got without BNI. Itʼs like having 30 sales reps out there working for you - but you donʼt have to pay them! New members are always welcome too.
