The best bar I went to in Edinburgh – the staff were so friendly and welcoming, much better than any of the bars we visited in the centre. Also really enjoyed the food, I think the landlord’s name is Graham, he was the most welcoming patron I met in Edinburgh – thanks Graham. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but thought your establishment, you and the staff more than deserve a good testimonial.

Generously sized haggis as a started, non the less, a very nice distinktive taste. Homemade burger was a lovely mix of flavours, again very filling. The delovet left a classy and clean impression. Staff were very polite, kind and helpfull. Will come back ***** (star rating).

Every time you walk in the bar you feel so welcome by the amazing staff - they always try get you a seat when its busy, and remember your name and drink after you've been in a couple of times - the personal touch!

Graham and his team are very friendly and professional. The food menu is very extensive and prices that don't break the bank either and prepared to a very high standard. They also introduced a £5 menu in January which changes daily and I personally think it is fantastic value for money. This introductory offer has been quite popular with customers that they have decided to keep doing it. Would definitely highly recommend visiting. Thanks Nicola

I love the Mercat because the menu is exciting, varied and good value. I love the friendliness of the staff and of course I love the managers humour! I love its proximity to my workplace which means its very accessable. To be honest I love the whole experience The Mercat offers.
