Eastbourne Education Business Partnership are delighted to be able to confirm that the first annualĀ  Big Futures Show will be taking place on 20 April 2016 at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne.

The Big Futures Show brings together Education and Business. The show, aimed at year 14 to 16 year old pupils and others considering their future, will be a mix of education, training and employment prospects. With many of the 100 available exhibitor spaces already allocated the organisers are planning an even mix of business, further education, and organisation exhibitors. Use of all the Winter Gardens facilities means that students will be able to meet exhibitors in a professional exhibition environment.

With enthusiasm for the event running high 3000 students from across East Sussex are expected to visit the show. They will benefit from pre and post event materials and be able to meet employers and providers face to face. The show will spark imagination with interactive exhibits and displays across a range of skills.

Careers advice and education, apart from being mandated, is crucial to the development of a young persons future. Schools often struggle to provide this with national events in London and the NEC being difficult to access and pressure on time and budgets ever present. Businesses and organisations, while often willing and keen to support, cannot afford to visit multiple in house school events. By creating one high quality regional event the Big Futures Show takes away the problems of access for East Sussex schools and time commitment for business and organisations.

Business across East Sussex and even nationally will benefit from meeting their workforce of the future. They will be able to inspire students to gain the skills needed to work for them in years to come and who knows they may well be meeting their apprentices and graduate trainees of a couple years time.

The event is supported by Eastbourne Borough Council and has a large proportion of the funding in place. There are sponsorship opportunities for business and organisations that would like to support this project.
