Ah Christmas. Time of good cheer. Cards and trees, decorations and lights. The office poarty and the wind-down at the end of the year. For some a long break until the New Year is past.
What will Santa bring?
If you overload the electricity circuit with lighting, added heating, it may not be what you expect. You may well find that instead of good cheer, it is the sound of sirens. Fire starting deep within walls as older wiring becomes overloaded and heats up.
Returning on 2nd January, content that you have spent quite long enough in the bossom of your family, that old plumbing system during the first sharp freeze, starts to cascade into the offices unseen. It's not the wall of water seen in cartoons, but the puddles in and around the computers, servers, and electrical switch boxes.
So, before putting on the glad rags, and quaffing that first glass of something to welcome the season, THINK. Are wiring circuits safe? Are all the pipes checked and lagged? Have I a plan to prevent a minor incident turning into a disaster? If you can say yes,
Have a Very Merry Christmas
