Handcross Park School is a fine local independent school in beautiful surroundings near East Grinstead, with an impressive academic record. I was talking to Beverly Hipkin, the school's Director of Admissions and Marketing, recently and she revealed an interesting idea that the school has come up with to raise money for the Rockinghorse Appeal, a charity that makes life better for sick children in Sussex.
In a 'Come Dine With Us' experience, the school's chef and her team will be creating a 'fine dining restaurant' for two evenings at the school on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th April. Guests will be able to select from a specially prepared menu accompanied by a choice list of wines, all served in the superb ambience of the oak panelled hall set in the school's main house. The price per person will be a very reasonable £30, payable in advance, with all profits donated to The Rockinghorse Appeal.
To book for this interesting occasion, which will be very popular, you will need to act fast and give Beverly a call on 01444 400526 or 07900 385631, or email her. Parties of up to 10 guests can be catered for and the closing date for reservations is Friday, 19th March.
The event is in aid of the Rockinghorse charity, whose aim is to make all children’s health facilities in Sussex child-friendly environments and believes that no child should be frightened to go into hospital. They also provide cutting-edge medical equipment that makes surgery less invasive, quicker or less painful. The charity is best known for its work with the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
Handcross Park is also an excellent wedding venue, providing the sumptuous surroundings of the house and the picturesque setting of its extensive grounds. It even has a licence for civil ceremonies.
