New town boundary signs

Bookmark and Share

You may have noticed the attractive new features that have replaced the old boundary signs on the main roads leading into East Grinstead. These are an example of good local businesses working with the Town Council.

The wrought iron signs were handcrafted by blacksmith Eric Lamprell in his smithy in Ashurst Wood. I know Eric because he kindly hosted my Beaver group a few years ago as part of their programme of visits to local activities.

The hanging baskets are the work of Lynda Bradford and her team at the delightful Orchard Nursery on the Holtye Road. Lynda works closely with the Town Council as an adviser on the amenity planting and floral decoration around the area.  Have a look at Orchard Nursery's feature on thebestof EastGrinstead here.

Next time you drive by, admire the work of two of our great local craftsmen!

I help run thebestof EastGrinstead. Keen on keeping active, I have completed five Moonwalk marathons for breast cancer charity, the latest in Edinburgh. I have loads of friends locally, many of whom have businesses in and around East Grinstead.
