About Anna Davydova
Anna Davydova is a motivational and inspirational teacher adept at combining a strong educational ethos with an outstanding artistic talent. She is a fully qualified and very professional dance teacher who trained and became a soloist in a dance company in Russia.
After a successful career as a performer she took a degree in dance teaching and choreography at the University College of Culture in Russia and followed this with a dance degree at the University College of Dance in Stockholm Sweden. She then spent time learning Flamenco and Spanish dance in Madrid.
Anna worked at different dance schools in Spain and Sweden as well as being invited to choreograph at the Royal Drama Theatre and National Drama Theatre in Stockholm.
Since moving to London Anna Davydova has gained a Diploma and Certificate in Dance Teaching Level 5 FE at British Ballet Organisation.
In addition to running her successful dance school in Ealing, Anna still performs and works as a consultant for theatre and movie companies in Europe, choreographing character dances of different styles and eras. She is also a lecturer in ballet at Middlesex University.
Anna Davydova also runs a number of after school and holiday clubs for children incorporating street dance, art and sports with themes such as animals, flowers, space etc. in conjunction with other organisations in Ealing. Contact her for further details of upcoming playschemes in the school holidays.
Ballet
Our ballet classes are fun and up-to-date and build on the Russian style of ballet and its traditions. We aim to develop a joy of dance and freedom of expression and to build creativity.
Lots of children dream of being a ballet dancer so help make some dreams come true and enrol them for ballet lessons. Ballet for tiny tots from 3+ helps them develop confidence and a love of movement. Children from 6+ can study and take part in performances.
Students work through recognized ballet grades according to ability and experience and are prepared for the British Ballet Organisation (BBO) examinations (later in 2012).
Adult ballet lessons for beginners and more advanced students are also available.
Regulation BBO ballet leotards can be obtained via the school.
Anna Davydova also prepares students for auditions for vocational schools and the major dance academies for professional dancers such as Arts Educational, The Royal Academy of Ballet etc.
Students have regular opportunities to perform on stage locally. Students of the Anna Davydova Dance School are in rehearsal for a performance of Coppelia in July. Anna Davydova puts on shows which are much more than just an end of year performance with costumes, lighting and music to rival children's productions in the West End.
Private tuition is also available.
Flamenco
Flamenco is a passionate and exciting dance from Spain with its root in different cultures such as Spanish, Arab, Jewish and India.
Children from 6 years old can learn to hold posture, keep rhythm and develop their co-ordination. Also they can learn more about how the music and dance is enhanced with the hand clapping - palmas, castanets, shawls and fans.
Adults will also enjoy the rhythms and learn an exciting and powerful form of dance which does not have an age limit.
Ballroom Dancing
Latin and ballroom dance is a great form of social and competition dance, danced with a partner. With Strictly Come Dancing a TV highlight, ballroom dancing is increasing in popularity again.
Latin consists of many rhythms including jive, cha-cha, samba, rumba and paso doble, but students will also learn the basics of other rhythms such as salsa, merengue and mambo too.
Ballroom dance includes waltz, quickstep, tango, Viennese waltz and foxtrot.
Suitable for adults and children aged 6+ you do not need a partner to attend these classes.
Full timetable and costs for all classes and rates can be found on our website.
