The skies above Ealing will be shining with lots of dazzling fireworks as we “remember remember the 5th of November” yet again. So here’s our roundup of the best organised fireworks displays in the Ealing area.
This year The Park Club in Acton kicks off the action for Bonfire Night celebrations locally with their Fireworks Spectacular on Friday 4th November. Although mainly for members if you have friends going ask them to take you along - guests are welcome (cost is Adults: £15, Children £5) as long as they are accompanied by a card-carrying member of the club. The theme is a closely guarded secret but the evening will include a funfair, traditional bonfire, family disco, a surprise act and of course a great fireworks display. Access is from 5.30pm and the fireworks start at 7.45pm. If you live locally but don’t know any accommodating friends with membership it’s worth remembering what time the display starts as the view from Acton Park itself is free and almost as good.
The big day itself - Saturday 5th November - has been chosen by two major fireworks displays in Ealing Broadway and Pitshanger this year. These are very popular annual events with locals so get there early!
At Ealing Cricket Club they are hosting an Explosive Rock Firework Megashow featuring a fantastic fireworks display set to Rock N Roll classics including Queen and Oasis. This is usually the one to watch so get there in plenty of time. Gates open at 6pm with the display starting at 7.30pm followed by the big bonfire. Admission charges are £6 adult and £4 child under 14 (accompanied). Bars will be open and you can also buy mulled wine and barbecue fare.
The Brentham Club in Pitshanger is also hosting their annual Fireworks Display on Saturday 5th November. Gates will open at 5.00 pm with the firework display at 7.30 pm. More information to follow – check on http://www.brenthamclub.co.uk for details.
Slightly further afield but handy for Acton residents to the east of the borough of Ealing, Ravenscourt Park’s community fireworks event is particularly family-friendly with a no alcohol policy in place. Also being held on Saturday 5th November the gates open at 6pm with a quieter fireworks display for children at 7.15pm followed by the main show at 8pm. A funfair and stalls complete the offering.
For a more low-key family fireworks event, why not join families and friends in the grounds of St Augustine’s Priory school for their All Saints Fireworks Display on Thursday 3rd November. Gates open at 6.30pm with the big display at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £6 adults, £5 kids and family ticket £20 (2 adults and 2 children).
Organised events are the safest and easiest way to enjoy a great fireworks display so stand well back and have fun!
