Alcohol and weight gain

Bookmark and Share

The alcohol awareness charity Drinkaware published details of a survey in May 2011 suggesting that dieters were unaware of how many calories were in the drink they take - so - even though they may avoid a certain food or

pudding they may still keep on the weight.

A comparison table has been drawn up -

1 glass of champagne = 95 calories = a slice of treacle tart.

1 glass of wine = 134 calories = 1 choc ice.

2 gin and tonics = 104 calories = 2 yorkshire puddings.

3 pints of 5% lager = 727 calories = an all day breakfast.

1 pint of 4% lager = 193 calories = 1 sugar coated doughnut.
